Do we need the tag? I see it's pretty much used as a synonym for .

  • $\begingroup$ Hi @Franck, do you want to accept one of the answers? The tags have been made synonyms now. $\endgroup$ – amoeba says Reinstate Monica Oct 15 '15 at 21:05
  • $\begingroup$ @amoeba Sure, I am not a huge fan of "natural-language" though, too bad "natural-language-processing" isn't a valid tag. $\endgroup$ – Franck Dernoncourt Oct 15 '15 at 21:23
  • $\begingroup$ It could technically be a valid tag, but there is always a constraint to try to make tags as short as possible... $\endgroup$ – amoeba says Reinstate Monica Oct 15 '15 at 21:25

I've mapped nlp to natural-language.

As there are two tags, namely and , I think the tag can be merged in with the tag.

Update: As @amoeba has clearly pointed out, would be confusing as it can be both natural language processing and neuro-linguistic programming, so should be an apt tag.

$\begingroup$ I would suggest to have [natural-language] as the master tag because when I see "NLP", the first thing that comes to mind is the so called "neuro-linguistic programming", and it's confusing. $\endgroup$ – amoeba says Reinstate Monica Sep 21 '15 at 9:28

$\begingroup$ Ahh, totally forgot about that. Seems like natural-language seems like the better bet. Edited the answer. $\endgroup$ – Dawny33 Sep 21 '15 at 9:40

    $\begingroup$ NLP for me is "non-linear programming". $\endgroup$ – Weiwei Sep 24 '15 at 16:07
  • $\begingroup$ @Weiwei I find non-linear optimization clearer :) $\endgroup$ – Franck Dernoncourt Sep 27 '15 at 5:07
